The most common problem associated with non-starting two-cycle chain saw engines is old, stale fuel. The gasoline's available in 2014 are complex blends that can go stale in as few as 60 to 90 days.
If you run stale fuel in your two-cycle chainsaw, you risk engine flooding from a gummed-up fuel system that can’t correctly measure out the fuel.
Check for flooding by removing the spark plug and examining its tip. If the plug’s tip is wet with fuel, you have a flooding problem.
